In anticipation for this weekend’s ‘Le COP Crusade’, the riders met up at Temple Quay to make final preparations for their four day cycle to Paris, where they will join climate activists from across the world in marching on the COP21 Climate talks.
At today’s final meet up the group was greeted by Mayor George Ferguson, a champion of the humble bicycle, who wished them the best of luck for the journey. They were also handed their team jerseys for the trip which were provided by UK based, Grn sportswear who specialise in producing ethical, sustainably sourced sportswear.
The group consists of over 15 riders from Bristol based businesses and organisations including Your Group Energy, Natracare, Love the Future and Sustain! Our CEO Tobias Parker is joined on the ride by Senior Consultant Matt Gitsham who said:
‘I’m really excited for the ride! I see the Paris talks as a crucial step toward a workable international deal to finally begin our response to climate change in a significant way and see the cycle ride as the best way I can help with this!’
We wish Matt, Toby and the rest of the riders the best of luck! The group will be heading off from College Green at 9.30AM tomorrow so be sure to follow their progress using the hashtag #COPCrusade.
