• Sustain supports The National Trust with carbon reductions

Sustain have been working with The National Trust to reduce the carbon associated with running three of their properties in the Wales region; Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd County House and Craflwyn. The energy efficiency improvements have been implemented as part of a pilot which The National Trust Wales are running for an Environmental management system with the idea of rolling it out nationally. The regional business plan stated that by 2013 the National Trust Wales would reduce their energy usage across their welsh properties by 20%. Sustain have supported this by installing flange and valve insulation at the sites. This has helped with an overall reduction in energy usage for Wales in 2010 by 46%. We are continuing to work with The National Trust in the South West region on a number of other sites.
