Sustain deliver loft and cavity wall insulation project management for BPHA

Sustain has been working with Bedford Pilgrims Housing Association (BPHA) for over three years, delivering project management for their loft and cavity wall insulation programme. This has resulted in Sustain managing the install of 1,995 lofts and 626 cavity wall insulations with savings totalling 25,000 t/CO2. As well as the project management process, Sustain has accessed £300,000 of grant funding for BPHA towards their insulation programmes.

Sustain to support Vears in proactively managing their environmental impacts

Sustain is working with Vears to support them in proactively managing their environmental impacts including energy, transport, waste and water. This is being done across their entire organisation in order to support their business requirements to expand their work with leading clients and gain competitive advantage. Sustain have so far made some key recommendations for improvements, and identified water and carbon footprinting assessments as a way of measuring improvements going forward. Sustain, now acting as sustainability consultants, will also be guiding Vears through their CDP submission.

Sustain calculate the feasibility of installing solar PV panels for Bristol City Council

Bristol City Council will be funding the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on schools under their control. Sustain was appointed to carry out studies at each school that expressed an interest in the scheme. These covered all aspects related to the feasibility of installing solar PV panels at each school. So far 20 schools have been surveyed and the reports will be used to tender for installation contracts to PV installers.

Sustain is working with Bilfinger Berger to reduce utilities consumption

Sustain is working with Bilfinger Berger to manage the electricity, gas and water utilities at two large PFI schools in Bedford on a 5 year contract. Sustain was selected due to its focus on achieving a real reduction in the utility consumption and costs and has already achieved double digit percentage savings. It has achieved this rapidly through gaining a detailed understanding of the energy usage in the schools and drawing up a practical Carbon Management Action Plan which it is delivering too.

Sustain ensure the designs of their dwellings are meeting compliance standards such as Code for Sustainable Homes and Part L of building regulations. Sustain are able to support Kier through the all stages of the process from tender to final assessments. As long standing experts in this field, Sustain offer guidance and advice to ensure all standards are met or exceeded. This is why Kier are continuing to work with Sustain.
